In 1995, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker opened the dance school P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. In the meantime, ten generations of dancers and choreographers have studied there, more than 350 students from throughout the world. Today, many are prominent figures in the dance
world. For its twentieth anniversary, P.A.R.T.S. looks back. In this book, 50 former students are portrayed. 50 individual stories about how dance came into their lives, what dance can mean, and how they give form to the art of dance.

I travelled all over Europe, from Brussels to Reykjavik, to make 50 intimate portraits. Showing the person behind the dancer or choreographer. The book concludes with one hundred images of life at P.A.R.T.S., including my photos I made being the house photographer of P.A.R.T.S. the last 10 years and lists of all the students, teachers and collaborators who have, over the past 20 years, contributed to making P.A.R.T.S. what it is today.

Troubleyn/Laboratorium houses a collection of unique integrated artworks by prominent international artists with who Jan Fabre feels a close affinity. This book bears witness to the touching enthusiasm with which these artists have contributed, at the invitation of Jan Fabre, to what Troubleyn/Laboratorium is today: an artists’ utopia, a unique sanctuary for the arts. I photographed a serious of artists during the installation of their work.
